Seeking therapy can be daunting and the process to find the right therapist can take time. I strive to provide an empathic and warm environment for my clients and work with culturally sensitive approach in mind. Building the therapeutic relationship is important so I welcome you to book an assessment with me to see if you feel I am the right fit for you. I work from a person centered approach and prefer to spend the first two sessions getting an idea of my client's background, pertinent life experiences and what brought them to therapy. From there I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and use Solution Focused techniques to help my client work towards their long and short term goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first assessment session I will be asking my client questions about their presenting issues, their upbringing, medical and behavioral history, support systems, pertinent life experiences, existing coping skills as well as their past experiences of seeking therapy. My goal is to build rapport and to get some background information to see how we can best work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of New Jersey. I graduated with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University and I have also completed undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Short-term Psychodynamic Counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have over 9 years of experience working with adult and adolescent clients who are dealing with substance use disorders along with other various mental health concerns ranging from depression, anxiety to bereavement. I enjoy seeing clients with a sense of motivation to work on their issues and who are committed to the therapeutic process. Being in therapy isn't always easy however sticking through the journey even when it feels hard is part of the healing process and I aim to support you every step of the way. I invite clients to give me feedback and work collaboratively to achieve their goals so adjustments can be made where needed.
