Kelly Farrell
I am Kelly Farrell, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges. Throughout my career, I've worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a variety of clinical settings. I believe therapy should be a comfortable, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and free to be yourself. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, family conflict, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and feel more confident moving forward. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I recognize that everyone's experiences and needs are different, and I tailor our work together to what matters most to you. I value building genuine connections with my clients and believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change.
First session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a comfortable, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. I'll take time to understand what brings you to therapy, the challenges you're experiencing, and what you hope to achieve. I believe building trust and establishing a genuine connection are essential to successful therapy. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and comfortable moving forward. Together, we'll begin identifying meaningful goals and discussing how we can work toward them.
Strengths
I bring warmth, empathy, and years of clinical experience to my sessions. I'm an engaged therapist who listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and helps clients explore patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, balancing support with gentle challenges that encourage personal growth. My goal is for clients to feel comfortable being open and honest while gaining practical tools they can use in everyday life.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, relationship challenges, family conflict, or significant life changes. They may struggle with setting boundaries, managing emotions, or finding balance in their personal and professional lives. I enjoy working with adults, young adults, and adolescents who want to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping. Whether someone is new to therapy or returning after some time, I welcome clients who are open to exploring their experiences and working toward positive change.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I believe building a trusting relationship is essential to helping clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, better understand their emotions, and develop healthier coping strategies. I take an active role in sessions by asking thoughtful questions, offering feedback, and helping clients gain insight into their behaviors and relationships. Together, we identify strengths, explore solutions, and work toward meaningful, positive change.
