New to Grow
Hello! I am Ms. Rebekah René Scott, LPC, providing dedicated, completely virtual therapy throughout the state of Idaho. My private practice is built on a foundation of deep collaboration, transparency, and clinical excellence. I specialize in walking alongside individual Christian adults who are navigating the heavy aftermath of PTSD, C-PTSD, or recovery from narcissistic abuse. My goal is to help you move past chronic stress and survival mode into genuine Post-Traumatic Growth. Rather than using open-ended or unstructured talk therapy, I utilize clear, evidence-based, and step-by-step cognitive-behavioral methods—such as Written Exposure Therapy and the structured 5-NET method—alongside expressive art. Together, we safely build the physiological relaxation skills and psychological insights you need to re-author your life story, reclaim your peace of mind, and align your mental wellness with your deeply held spiritual values.
Our first virtual session is entirely about preparation, building a safe connection, and easing any anxiety you might have about the therapeutic process. We will focus on Phase I of our work together: establishing our therapeutic relationship and identifying your specific goals for healing from trauma or narcissistic abuse. You will never be asked to dive into painful memories or recount traumatic details right away. Instead, we take a gentle, structured approach to lay a secure foundation. We will discuss what psychoeducation or skills-building tools will serve you best, answer any questions you have about our upcoming roadmap, and begin mapping out an individualized plan designed to help your body feel safe, regulated, and completely in control from day one.
My greatest strength as a clinician lies in bridging structured, evidence-based trauma protocols with an authentic, faith-honoring space for individual Christian adults. Rather than relying on open-ended talk therapy that can sometimes leave clients feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I provide a highly intentional, goal-oriented experience using focused modalities like the 5-NET method and Written Exposure Therapy. I excel at breaking down complex neuroscience and physiological stress responses into clear, accessible psychoeducation, empowering you with deep insights into how your brain and body react to trauma. By combining cognitive-behavioral clarity with creative expressive art tools, I help you build real somatic self-regulation and a profound sense of 'bodyfull-ness.' My ultimate goal is not just to manage your symptoms, but to walk alongside you as you safely integrate your past, re-author your life story, and achieve lasting Post-Traumatic Growth.
I am best positioned to serve individual Christian adults who are navigating the complex aftermath of PTSD, C-PTSD, or recovery from narcissistic abuse. My ideal clients are often dealing with intrusive sensory memories, chronic nervous system dysregulation, or a fragmented sense of self after relational trauma. You are a wonderful fit for my practice if you are motivated by clear, structured goals and want to integrate your faith into an evidence-based roadmap for healing. Rather than getting lost in endless talk therapy, we follow a deliberate, phased approach: first establishing a strong therapeutic relationship and building concrete psychoeducation and relaxation skills, then safely integrating sensory memories into narrative language, and ultimately moving toward Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) and spiritual maturation. If you are ready to build deep 'bodyfull-ness,' learn to self-regulate, and actively re-author your life story in a secure, faith-honoring space, I look forward to working with you.
Other specialties
I identify as
Christian Counseling
I provide a compassionate, grace-centered space for clients who wish to integrate their Christian faith into the healing process. My approach honors your personal relationship with God, incorporating prayer, Scripture, and theological reflection when requested, while always moving at your comfort level. Rather than offering rigid lectures, I walk alongside you as a supportive peer, helping you align your mental health goals with your deeply held spiritual values, explore spiritual identity, and navigate complex life transitions with hope and discernment.
Narrative
I use the highly structured, evidence-based 5-Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) Method. This specific approach synthesizes proven cognitive-behavioral principles into a simple, step-by-step framework designed to help survivors safely process and desensitize painful, intrusive trauma memories and anxiety symptoms. In my practice, we work collaboratively through a clear, structured sequence where you remain in control. Together, we map out a chronological Graphic Time Line of an event, transition into brief written and pictorial narratives, and utilize a recursive retelling process. Because this is a non-abreactive method, it is specifically designed to minimize discomfort and fear, allowing you to achieve a safe, rapid resolution of traumatic memories while keeping your body relaxed, regulated, and grounded throughout the session.
Trauma Informed Care
My approach to trauma-informed care is grounded in understanding how deeply stressful or traumatic experiences impact the brain and nervous system. Rather than focusing on 'what is wrong with you,' we gently look at 'what happened to you' using evidence-based, structured modalities designed to safely rewire and heal the brain. In my practice, I integrate highly effective, brief protocols like Written Exposure Therapy (WET) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help you safely process traumatic memories without becoming overwhelmed. To complement these structured approaches, I incorporate elements of Expressive Art Therapy, utilizing creative tools to access and release trauma where language sometimes falls short. Together, these methods allow us to establish emotional safety, build resilience, and process your past at a pace where you always remain completely in control of your healing journey.
Psychoeducation
I believe that knowledge is empowering. I integrate psychoeducation into our sessions to demystify mental health, breaking down complex psychological concepts, stress responses, and relational dynamics into clear, everyday language. By understanding the 'why' behind your symptoms and behaviors, you can shed unnecessary shame and gain practical tools. I provide relevant insights and actionable coping strategies, equipping you to become an active, informed expert in your own ongoing growth and healing.
