Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Georgia. I received my Masters from the Barry University and have been practicing for 20 plus years. I help young adults to older adults struggling with anxiety , depression, self-esteem issues, trauma, domestic violence and career challenges become the best versions of themselves. I try to create a comfortable and nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients feel safe to share their vulnerabilities which is crucial.
In the first therapy session, clients can expect a general introduction to therapy, a discussion of their reasons for seeking help, and an overview of the therapist's approach. This session primarily focuses on gathering information about the clients history and current issues , with the therapist asking questions to understand the client's needs and goals.
My greatest strengths as a therapist demonstrate qualities such as being compassionate, understanding, nonjudgmental, patient, and willing to listen and provide guidance. I am proud of my excellent communication skills and empathy skills as well as knowledge and experience in the field of psychology.
Generally, I prefer clients who are motivated, open to self-reflections, and willing to work on themselves. The ideal client is often described as someone who is ready to make a commitment to the process, appreciates the therapist's expertise , and takes responsibility for their own growth.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
My style of therapy is solution focused on the client's target goals created by the client with the guidance of the therapist. I have a strengths perspective approach viewing the client as a whole person and placing them at the center of the care. This includes listening to the client, respecting their perspective, and involving them in decision making. This client centered approach fosters trust and collaboration between clients and healthcare providers.
Strength-Based
The strengths perspective approach in social work and related fields emphasizes identifying and utilizing the strengths and resources of individuals, groups and communities rather than focusing solely on their problems and deficits. This approach aims to empower individuals to use their existing strengths to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Grief Therapy
Grief therapy also known as bereavement therapy, uses various techniques to help individuals process the emotional and psychological effects of loss, such as death, divorce, or major life changes. It creates a safe space for expressing feelings, developing coping strategies, and finding meaning and purpose in life after loss. While reviewing the 5 stages of grief and how each person processes their grief.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT in therapy involves helping clients identifying and challenge negative thoughts and behaviors to develop more helpful ones. These techniques help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and to learn strategies for managing difficult situations.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
This therapy focuses on the individuals internal experience and promotes self-discovery, growth and well-being. It emphasizes a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, unconditional positive regard and authenticity between the therapist and client. The therapist acts as a facilitator guiding client's exploration of their thoughts and feelings without imposing their own interpretations or judgements.

I was really looking forward to this appointment however this provider never showed up nor did she communicate about needing to cancel or reschedule. A provider missing the very first session can dissuade people from seeking out help.
