New to Grow
My name is Kathleen. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides compassionate, client-centered therapy in a supportive and respectful environment. I believe therapy is a collaborative process grounded in trust, understanding, and curiosity. My approach focuses on the whole person and the experiences that shape them, helping clients gain insight, build confidence, and develop practical tools that support meaningful, lasting change.
In our first session, my primary focus is getting to know you and understanding how you're doing. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy and what led you to begin at this point in your life. We'll also explore your goals for therapy so we can work together in a way that feels meaningful and supportive. Finally, we'll address any intake forms and take time to address questions you may have about the process.
My strengths include working with a diverse population; being open minded, compassionate, and collaborative. I help adults who grew up in difficult or unstable environments understand how those experiences continue to impact their anxiety, depression and relationships today. I want to work with you to process this history and move forward with the tools you need to be the person you want to be.
My ideal clients are individuals who are motivated for change. I believe therapy is about fostering growth, resilience, and self-discovery.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy practices, along with Mindfulness and Strength Based approaches to support the client in their treatment goals. I like to partner with clients in their theraputic journey. I will challenge negative coping skills to help disrupt unhealthy patterns, while helping clients see they have the skills to change. I want to highlight the courage it takes to prioritize one's emotional wellbeing and will support clients in getting to their desired goals.
Strength-Based
After getting to know the client and goals have been created, I like to review what worked well in the past, and why it worked then. I want to help the client see they indeed have the skills to implement positive change in their life right now.
