Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a treatment method that aims to reduce symptoms of various conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders but can be useful in a wide range of mental health concerns. I have incorporated some of the following CBT techniques in my practice with clients: Encouraging gradual exposure to situations that cause anxiety, like going into a crowded public space; Journaling about your thoughts throughout the day and recording your feelings about your thoughts; Identifying and Challenging Unhealthy thought patterns and beliefs that have been problematic.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

As a therapist, person centered approach is at the core of every interaction that I have with a client. In sessions, I strive to honor the fact that each person has a unique point of view that I must try to understand. I incorporate this treatment method because I also believe it is important to show up in that space as a genuine person seeking to provide support, empathy, unconditional positive regard and to help foster a non-judgmental space.

Eclectic

As a therapist, I utilize Eclectic therapy as an approach to draw on multiple treatment techniques to work with clients. I have used this method to be flexible and multifaceted in therapy which allows me to use the most effective methods available to address each individual client's needs. This may look like utilizing Person Centered approach, Mindfulness Based Therapy and some Motivational Interviewing techniques to help clients with practical, empathetic, and short-term process that takes into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.
