Sheryl Morgan
Hi, I’m licensed in California as an LMFT, with a PhD from UC Berkeley. With a broad base of experience over the years, I have been honored to witness clients of all ages as they grew and healed, becoming more at ease in their unfolding lives.
I’m really good at identifying client strengths and successes.
While I try to listen carefully to clients, I also will share ideas, questions and feedback with compassion and thoughtfulness.
First session
At the first session, I like clients to feel at ease and able to ask any questions they may have. I like to understand their hopes for our time together.
Strengths
I’m really good at identifying client strengths and successes. I align respectfully and compassionately with client's hopes.
Ideal clients
I do not work well with addiction or perpetrators of abuse. I do work well with parents and have extensive experience with children 1-5. My Spanish is limited, but I work well with bilingual Latinos. I enjoy working with Adults in life transitions. I work well with all religions, especially Buddhist, Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Unitarian.
Treatment methods
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
“What we are unaware of, we cannot change. “ Having taught Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for years, I offer ways to support awareness as one component of therapy.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
After working with brief therapies for years, I like to honor the clients own hopes for an outcome they identify.
Strength-Based
I recognize that there’s strengths within clients, often unrecognized, that support them in reaching their goals.
