(she/her)
Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia. I received my bachelors in social work from James Madison University and my masters in social work from Radford University. I have worked in community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, and most recently with the Dept of Veterans Affairs. I am certified in perinatal mental health and enjoy working with postpartum mothers. I have worked with children, adults, and veterans. I have experience in CBT for Insomnia. I enjoy solution-focused therapy and enjoy working hand in hand with my clients to find solutions to the problems they have in their lives.
In our first session, we are working to establish rapport and develop a therapeutic relationship. I will ask many questions to get to know you and your situation, then we will work together to develop goals for treatment so we know where to start.
I am a great listener and enjoy hearing everything my clients have to say before offering guidance or suggestions.
I love working with new mothers. As a mother of small children myself, I have seen firsthand the discrepancies in mental health care available to postpartum mothers and have made it my personal mission to reach those individuals.
Strength-Based
I have used strength-based treatment with a variety of populations including inpatient psychiatric patients, children, adults with severe mental illness, and veterans.
Psychoeducation
I use psycho education in all treatment settings to ensure clients have up-to-date information about their diagnoses and symptoms.
