New to Grow
Miranda Blaeuer is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Miranda approaches every individual from a strength-based perspective. It is important to build upon what is already working. Miranda has extensive experience working with women and their unique experiences. Miranda provides coaching and counseling focused on parenting. Miranda has two children of her own. Therefore, she knows how exciting (and challenging!) being a mother can be. Miranda also assists clients as they navigate life’s transitions, ranging from young adulthood to divorce and other change of life shifts. It is understood even desired changes can be challenging and require support. Miranda utilizes a variety of approaches: Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Mindful Based Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and other evidenced-based/effective modalities. Each client brings an array of life experiences to the session. Collaboratively, the client and Miranda will work together to face challenges. Miranda has been licensed in Florida since 2007. She maintains her Florida licensure and earned licensure in Texas in 2018, upon return to her home state.
In our initial session together, I am going to ask you what brought you to therapy (what do you want to work on?) and why now (what's motivating you to make changes at this time). From there, I will work to understand what challenges you are facing and how you can be supported during this time.
I have been a therapist for 20 years. There is nothing you are going to say that is going to shock or surprise me. There is nothing you can say that I haven't heard before. It is not my job to judge you, and I won't. I am here to understand your perspective. I truly believe we are all doing the absolute best we can at this time with the resources and the knowledge we have. I strive to see each person as the best version of themselves.
I have 20 years of experience working with women and families. I understand first hand how challenging and overwhelming transitions in life can be. Sometimes we all need someone to encourage us and remind us it is not going to feel this way forever. Even desirable changes (career, moves, parenting) can be stressful in the moment. Other shifts such as divorces or deaths feel life-shattering, and require additional support. Ultimately, we all want to feel heard and seen. We need to know we are not alone and we have the ability to weather this season of life. I work with women through every chapter- college transitions, relationships beginning and ending, and seeking fulfilling careers. Additionally, I specialize in all aspects of reproduction- infertility, pregnancy, postpartum mood disorders, and parenting.
Our earliest relationships form the basis of all future relationships. When we better understand how to connect to others, we feel more supported and safe.
As parents, we often repeat patterns of behavior from our own childhoods. Once we recognize these patterns, we can choose what we want to continue and what we want to eliminate.
Each person and each situation is approached from a strength-based perspective. Let's build upon what is already working.
Let's examine patterns of thinking and the behavior that follows to make sure the thinking is rational and functional. If it isn't, we will change perspective.
