I am a therapist who provides a warm and steady space for clients navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, parenting stress, and major life transitions. I help people make sense of what they’re going through, feel more grounded and in control of their emotions, and move toward a life that feels lighter, clearer, and more hopeful. My approach is relational and practical, drawing on DBT, CBT, and mindfulness based strategies to support meaningful and sustainable change. I began my career in medical social work before transitioning into full time therapy specializing in substance use disorder. I later returned to medical social work at University of Kentucky Healthcare, where I earned my LCSW and spent ten years working with a wide range of patients. Since August 2025, I have been in private practice, where I’m able to offer intentional, client centered care with a healthier work life balance. I earned my Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky in 2026.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Therapy with me is warm, steady, and collaborative. I help you slow down, feel understood, and work through anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, parenting stress, or life transitions at a pace that feels safe. Together, we build clarity, practical skills, and a sense of grounded confidence as you move toward meaningful change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my warm, steady presence and my ability to help people feel safe and understood. I’m skilled at making complex emotions feel manageable and offering clear, grounded guidance without judgment. I meet clients exactly where they are and stay calm in moments of crisis, helping them build confidence in their ability to navigate stress and create meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clients have often been carrying a lot on their own and is ready for a space where they can feel understood. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, parenting stress, or a major life transition. They want a warm, steady therapist who meets them where they are and helps them make sense of what they’re going through. Their goals often center on feeling more grounded, more in control of their emotions, and clearer about their relationships or life direction. Ultimately, they want to feel lighter, more hopeful, and more connected to themselves, and they believe the right support can help them get there.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have extensive experience using DBT in both medical and outpatient settings, and I rely on it to help clients build practical skills they can use in everyday life. I focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, adapting each skill to fit the person sitting in front of me. My approach is steady and relational, so DBT becomes less about worksheets and more about helping clients understand themselves, manage intense emotions, and feel more confident in how they respond to stress. I also use DBT in a neurodivergent affirming way, adjusting strategies to support different nervous systems and attention patterns.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT throughout my career to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I focus on teaching practical skills that help people challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, reduce emotional overwhelm, and make intentional choices that support their goals. My approach is collaborative and grounded in real life, so CBT becomes a way for clients to gain clarity, feel more in control, and build confidence in their ability to navigate stress.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness-based therapy to help clients slow down, notice their internal experiences, and respond to stress with greater clarity and intention. Over the years, I’ve integrated mindfulness into both medical and outpatient settings, teaching clients how to stay present, reduce emotional reactivity, and build a stronger sense of grounding. My approach is practical and steady, focusing on simple skills that help people create space between what they feel and how they choose to act.
