About me

Hi, I’m Dr. Nanda Mamane, a psychologist specializing in grief, trauma, and maternal mental health. I take a warm, person-centered approach and work through a social justice and equity lens, tailoring therapy to your unique story. Outside of work, I love spending time in nature and with animals, and I bring that same calm and compassion into my sessions. Therapy with me is collaborative and supportive. We'll explore your experiences, build insight, and develop practical tools to help you manage grief, trauma, or chronic stress. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward with resilience and clarity.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have. I’ll also ask some background questions to better understand your story and experiences. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable and heard. Together, we’ll begin to outline a plan that feels supportive and tailored to your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is that it’s both integrative and deeply personal. I draw from evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, IPT, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness, while tailoring each session to your needs. I’m generally direct but always thoughtful, balancing honesty with compassion so clients feel supported while working toward meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone navigating grief, trauma, or the emotional toll of chronic physical or mental health challenges. They may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward. These clients are often seeking a space where they feel safe, seen, and supported—where they can process their experiences without judgment. Their goals might include finding meaning after loss, building coping strategies, improving relationships, or reconnecting with a sense of purpose. What they truly want is to feel more whole, empowered, and capable of living a fulfilling life, even in the face of pain.
