Is confusion, sadness and overwhelm taking up more of your time? Do you need help making sense of these feelings and understanding yourself and your world? I specialize in working with high functioning adults, age 20 and above, whose dysfunctional behavioral patterns prevent them from leading more joyful, empowered lives. Perhaps your family’s in your ear all the time, or your friends or spouse. Or your relationship is changing and you don't know how to make it better. And you bend to make them happy, but are then resentful and unfulfilled. You’re doing your best to manage anxious or depressed feelings, but family or relationship conflicts are challenging. My approach is engaging, compassionate and attentive. I slow you down so that you can hear, sense and understand yourself in different ways. We explore the parts of you that make you uncomfortable, and move through your pain and vulnerabilities. Through emotional and thought processes, we move your closed off parts closer to you, as your feelings towards them change. Life can begin to feel lighter, more manageable, more at ease. Inside each of us, there is a deep need to align with our core values and beliefs, with our self worth and truth. We’ll identify behaviors stemming from your pain and help you align with actions coming from your worth.
Our first session will be spent exploring what brings you into therapy, along with discussing some of your pain points. Clients can make it as light or as deep as they desire, seeing that it is the first session.
My training involves a psychodynamic approach, along with attachment models of understanding ourselves & cognitive behavioral ways in which we form our mental worlds. The ways in which we hold onto our experiences & the meanings we’ve associated with them, are some of the contributing factors towards inner struggles & imbalances. Thus, we'll observe how your past patterns are affecting your present and implement tools to challenge your thoughts. Additionally, we'll process your feelings around these struggles that are making you feel a certain way. I approach therapy with a non-judgmental & empathic stance. Understanding you and helping you navigate your life with a sense of peace and balance is essential.
I work with adults in relationship conflicts, low self esteem, depression, anxiety, and family dysfunctional codependent patterns. We get down to the root cause to help unlock dysfunctional behaviors and instead, function with constructive ones. Helping you think and feel in different ways, through the support and challenging nature of our therapy, yet non-judgmental, can move you through difficult situations.
