When you face painful life circumstances and personal challenges, one of the bravest and wisest things you can do is to reach out for help. My passion is to provide a caring environment focused on helping you to grow and heal. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Minor in Biblical Studies from Lee University and a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston. Before opening New Hope I spent 11 years working as a school counselor and a contract LPC.
Our first session will focus on getting to know each other and establishing your needs and goals so that you are able to get the most out of our time together. You may only need a couple of counseling sessions to get you through a rough patch. Other times therapy is needed for an extended period of time to work through issues that are causing distress.
My approach integrates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and rational emotive behavior therapy. Alongside these therapeutic approaches, I offer faith-based counseling. A large part of the draw of private practice for me is to be able to freely share the love of God and help the hurting find hope. Together we will tailor a treatment plan that works best for you and your unique situation!
In the school system, I gained a unique awareness of the many issues that families face. I am able to help pre-teens, teens, and their families navigate the school years. I have considerable experience helping clients who are facing a wide range of struggles from anxiety and job stress to suicidal ideation and family crisis. I have worked with clients of all ages from many different backgrounds.
I am particularly focused on teens, women, and fertility issues
