New to Grow
Hola! I Bienvenido/Welcome to my practice. I am honored to support you on your healing journey. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), fluent in both English and Spanish, with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner strength. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Moravian University and a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Catholic University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. As a Latina therapist, I am committed to creating a space that feels culturally responsive and safe. In our sessions I bring a mix of warmth and honesty, paired with evidenced-based approaches all through trauma-informed lens. I am a therapist who believes healing happens when the mind, the soul and body are integrated. My work is grounded in lived experience, extensive clinical training. I worked with kids, teenagers, adults, couples and families in diverse settings such as Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, Dual Drug and Alcohol, and School Based Partial Programs. I have extensive trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Based Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic practices, Spirituality, ACT, Psychodynamic, Person Centered and Integrative/Eclectic. My style is warm, collaborative, and real. My practice is grounded in holistic care, including respect, and service into my therapeutic approach. I believe the therapy relationship matters, and I show up as myself in sessions. Therapy with me is not about fixing you. You were never broken. It’s about helping you feel safe enough to be fully yourself. Together, we will work on building tools that honor your story while fostering the growth you deserve. Outside of therapy, I love being in nature, hiking, working out, and travelling to new places. In addition to this, rooted in my Caribbean heritage, I enjoy the beach, ocean views, sunsets and sunrises.
During our first session we will get into some of your background so I can do an assessment, exploring and listening to your concerns as well as getting to know the person that you are. I would also gather historical data to understand further circumstances possibly contributing to present-day issues. I would only request what you feel most comfortable disclosing in discussing historical information. I would also gather other vital aspects of yourself, including what you like, your hobbies, and your coping skills. Goals are always specific to client needs and individualized to fit those needs. The plan will typically include a correlation of the client's presenting issues. When establishing their goals, we want to move them from where they are to where they want to be.
I like to think I am open, honest, compassionate, relatable and have a lot of empathy for the people I work with. I work hard to make therapy feel relaxed, comfortable, and engaging. The therapeutic relationship is a special one and I value connecting with each of my clients with humor, authenticity, empathy, validation, and kindness. My practice is grounded in holistic care, including respect for client's spiritual and faith perspectives.
Females and males of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, and Trauma. Postpartum depression, parenting, life transitions, Self-Esteem
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Thinking about our thinking isn’t always easy. I challenge my clients to take a closer look at their thoughts patterns, bring them into question, and assign homework designed help clients on their journey towards healthier, balanced and unique ways to interpret their life circumstances.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
When emotional storms hit, DBT is the anchor that keeps my client's boats steady, using distress tolerance to help them survive crises without making them worse.
Somatic
I’m a somatic therapist who used somatic therapy to heal my own trauma. Have you done years of therapy but still feel stuck? Do you understand your patterns, yet your body keeps reacting? Many of my clients come to me after their progress has plateaued. They can explain their story, but their nervous system is still on edge. Their body feels flooded, shut down, or constantly bracing for something bad to happen. Somatic therapy helps when talking wasn’t enough. Somatic therapy helps when talking wasn’t enough.
