As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I view individuals within the context of their relationships and broader systems. I have extensive experience facilitating family therapy sessions that focus on improving communication, resolving conflict, and strengthening emotional bonds. In my practice, I use a collaborative, strengths-based approach—whether working with couples, parent-child relationships, or entire families—to help each member feel heard, understood, and empowered to contribute to healthier dynamics.
I firmly believe in empowering my clients to understand their behaviors based on their diagnosis. I use psychoeducation, which is, providing information and education about mental health, emotions, and relationship dynamics—as a tool to empower clients with knowledge that supports their healing. By helping clients understand how their thoughts, behaviors, and family systems interact, they can make more informed choices. I often incorporate psychoeducation to teach coping skills, explain diagnoses, and support family members in understanding one another’s experiences, fostering growth both inside and outside of sessions.
Safety is a priority! I practice trauma-informed care by creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered and in control of their healing process. This approach recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and emphasizes trust, collaboration, and sensitivity to triggers. I integrate trauma-informed principles into all aspects of treatment—whether working with individuals, couples, or families—by honoring each client’s story, pacing therapy thoughtfully, and focusing on building resilience and emotional safety.
You have everything you need inside you right now. I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build on the resilience, skills, and resources they already possess. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I highlight what’s working and explore how those strengths can support growth and healing. This method empowers individuals, couples, and families to feel more capable and confident as they navigate life’s challenges.
