New to Grow
I’m a licensed psychologist who helps adults make sense of their experiences and build lives that feel more balanced and meaningful. My approach is warm, straightforward, and grounded in practical tools that actually work. I speak Spanish and have years of experience supporting Latine clients, drawing on cultural values, family dynamics, and shared understanding to create a space that feels familiar and respectful. In therapy, we’ll slow things down, explore what’s been getting in the way, and work together toward the changes you want. My goal is to offer care that feels genuine, culturally aware, and supportive of who you are and where you come from. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands both the emotional and cultural layers of your story, I’d be glad to connect.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, I focus on getting to know you, such as your concerns, your goals, and what brings you to therapy at this moment. I’ll ask questions to understand your history and current context, while also creating space for you to tell your story in your own way and at your own pace. We’ll talk about what therapy can look like, discuss any questions you have, and identify initial goals together. By the end of the session, you’ll have a sense of my style, what to expect moving forward, and how we can work collaboratively toward meaningful change.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist are creating a trusting, supportive space where people feel comfortable opening up. I’m skilled at using evidence-based approaches, like CBT and trauma-focused therapies, in ways that feel practical and easy to apply in everyday life. I’m good at noticing patterns and helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and relationships fit together. Overall, I bring a mix of warmth, curiosity, and clear guidance that helps clients feel supported while they work toward real and lasting change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is open to collaboration and willing to engage actively in the therapeutic process, even if they feel uncertain or anxious at first. I work especially well with individuals who are curious about understanding their patterns, how thoughts, emotions, and relationships shape their experiences, and who are motivated to try new skills between sessions. I appreciate clients who value honesty, reflection, and a paced approach to change. Ultimately, my ideal client is anyone ready to work together toward insight, healing, and more adaptive ways of living.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and influence their daily functioning. In session, I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced, adaptive perspectives. I integrate structured, evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and exposure-based strategies, to support meaningful behavior change. Throughout treatment, I emphasize skill-building and real-world practice so clients can apply what they learn outside of therapy and sustain long-term progress.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I use Cognitive Processing Therapy to help clients understand how trauma has shaped their beliefs about themselves, others, and the world. Together, we identify stuck points (i.e., rigid or unhelpful beliefs that maintain distress) and examine how these thoughts impact emotions and behavior. I guide clients through structured cognitive interventions, including Socratic questioning and written impact statements, to challenge and modify these trauma-related beliefs. Throughout treatment, I emphasize flexibility, empowerment, and the development of healthier, more adaptive meanings that support healing and recovery.
Interpersonal
I use Interpersonal Therapy to help clients understand how their mood and symptoms are connected to their current relationships, roles, and social contexts. In session, we identify key interpersonal challenges, such as grief, role transitions, conflicts, or social skill difficulties, that may be contributing to their distress. I work collaboratively with clients to build communication skills, strengthen support systems, and navigate these interpersonal problem areas more effectively. Throughout treatment, the focus remains on improving relationships and enhancing interpersonal functioning to support overall emotional well-being.
