Hello, it’s good to see you here today! Obviously, there are some things in your life that are causing you significant stress, otherwise you would not be here researching the options available for therapists in Florida. I will dispense with listing all the therapy techniques I am familiar with and cut to the chase. If I were looking for a therapist to help me unravel the complexities in my life that are causing me distress, my first concern would be feeling secure with the therapist’s experience and education details. Yes, I have experience and have been providing therapy as a LCSW for over 20 years. Where, doing what you may ask. Here is a brief synopsis- I first worked at a residential drug/alcohol treatment center, helping clients diagnosed with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, legal and anger management issues. Next, I was a crisis counselor for Military One Source, providing telehealth crisis counseling for members of the military. After this experience, I began working as a telehealth counselor for the “special needs program” of a major HMO, which provided an array of services to clients who had both Medicare and Medicaid, helping clients improve their coping skills for dealing with issues unique to this population. Next I opened my private practice, addressing client issues such as workplace stress, anger management, marital/relationship issues, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, bipolar, PTSD and grief/bereavement. My therapy focus is to help a person find the answers within that may have illuded them over time, blocked by outmoded defenses to help keep sensitive feelings protected from the world. Walls can protect a person from hurt feelings, but at the same time block any good feelings such as love, trust, compassion, caring and giving. I can help you remove those walls and replace them with coping skills to help you deal with life's situations as they arise. I will help you identify the issues from the past causing distress, bring them into the open and implement coping skills to help you focus on the present. Life does not need to be perfect to be beautiful!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

What you can expect after the first session is to develop a treatment plan to address your most significant issues and begin to develop a set of coping skills to help you actively address such issues, as well as any new issues which may evolve from exploration of the possible sources of your present distress.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy as the main treatment focus I use. Behaviors are defined as anything action an organism does. After undesired behaviors are identified, then coping skills can be implemented to help a person to change undesired behaviors to desired ones.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths lie in the treatment of anger management, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and workplace stress.
