5 years of experience
Hello everyone! My name is Chastity Polston and I am new to grow therapy. I am from Kentucky. I have a LPCC and have been doing therapy for around 5 years. Before this, I started my career working for the Commonwealth of KY as a Investigative social worker investigating child/adult abuse. While working for the state of KY, I completed my first Masters Degree in Human Services. I went back and graduated with my 2nd Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and became a LPCC after passing the NCE. I was raised by a Vietnam Vet, retired Army Drill Sergeant, so it's safe to say I am disciplined and dependable. My father dealt with PTSD daily, my mother has Multiple Sclerosis so she has chronic pain, anxiety and depression. I can serve all populations but I am more comfortable with teenagers and older. I also have experience in couples counseling.I will try to help anyone I can and I tell my clients if i can't help them, I will find someone who can. I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren, with 2 more coming later this year. I also live in a little country town that has 2 man made lakes that are beautiful, for fishing, camping, or just relaxing. I am interested in learning from my colleagues and my clients
Clients will never feel judged by me. I want them to be able to take away what they might not have thought about from someone outside the box. Also, a very important thing for me is my clients seeing their WORTH.
I use CBT, reality, exposure and solution focused therapy. But I am open to other theories depending on what the client needs.
I am a very good listener. I also want clients to feel comfortable with me, especially if what we are trying to accomplish is not working. We can always do different theories for client
