(she/her)
I am an older adult with over 20 years experience in the mental health field. I have extensive training and experience with adolescence and adults who have experienced trauma. I hold a certificate in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My style is laid back and I make every attempt to meet you where you are. I am non judgemental and empathetic.
The first session is the 'get to know session' . We will introduce ourselves and have a conversation about your needs and begin to set goals about what you would like to achieve. Although I may make some suggestions. I believe you are the one that knows yourself best and should be driving the treatment.
I have had many people tell me how easy I am to talk to and how well I show I care. I have a lot of experience and training over the past 20 years in methods to help you heal.
I am most positioned to listen to your experiences that have brought you to seek help today. Often, just talking to someone begins the process of healing. I am gender-affirming and non judgemental . I can serve adolescence through senior citizens. Together we can then set achievable goals and start the healing process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the belief is that we feel and then act according to our thoughts. If we work on our core beliefs we can change our emotions and therefore our behavior. I have also had extensive training in how trauma can affect how we think. When I work with someone through their past trauma we begin to see how it affects their emotions and reactions to others.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Using DBT I can help you to see the core beliefs you have developed. We will learn Mindfulness to help you relax and be more aware of you own actions. We will work on any emotions you see as challenging to live a life worth living
