Tiara Briggs

LPC (she/her)6 years of experience

Hi, I’m Tiara, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience supporting individuals in community mental health, private practice, and workplace well-being. I work with adults, including young adults, navigating anxiety, self doubt, life transitions, relationship challenges, and experiences that can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. I especially enjoy helping people reconnect with their voice, build confidence, and create meaningful change.

First session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been going on, what you’d like support with, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. We’ll take things at a pace that feels comfortable while beginning to identify what you’d like us to focus on together. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and clear about our next steps.

Strengths

I bring warmth, curiosity, and an empowering presence into the therapy room. I listen closely and make space for your experiences while also helping you notice patterns, recognize your strengths, and consider new perspectives. I’m supportive without being passive, and when it’s helpful, I’ll gently challenge you in ways that encourage growth. I want our work to feel collaborative, authentic, and grounded in what matters most to you.

Ideal clients

I work best with women, including young adults, who may be navigating anxiety, self-doubt, relationship challenges, life transitions, or periods of feeling disconnected from themselves. Many of the clients I connect with are used to putting others first and are ready to reconnect with their voice, strengthen their confidence, and create meaningful change. I value working with clients who are open to reflection, growth, and discovering what feels authentic to them. I provide a warm, inclusive, and nonjudgemental space where all are welcome exactly as they are.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you notice how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors may be influencing one another. Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, challenge unhelpful thinking, and develop practical strategies you can use in everyday life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe that you are the expert of your own life. I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. Our work is collaborative, and I'll meet you where you are while supporting you in discovering what feels right and meaningful for you.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help you clarify what matters most to you and learn new ways of responding to difficult thoughts and emotions. Rather than waiting until everything feels perfect, we'll work towards choices and actions that feel more aligned with your values and the life you want to create.

Psychodynamic

I may use psychodynamic lens to explore how earlier experiences and relationships may influence the patterns showing up in your life today. By developing greater awareness of these connections, we can better understand what may be keeping you stuck and create space for new ways of relating to yourself and others.
