I’m a licensed professional counselor who works with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and the lasting impact of difficult or overwhelming experiences. I especially enjoy helping people understand the patterns they’ve developed to survive, build greater emotional resilience, and begin feeling more like themselves again. My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. I bring both compassion and a healthy dose of real-world perspective to therapy, and I believe you can do meaningful work without every session feeling heavy. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported while also helping you move toward meaningful change.

First session

In our first session, my goal is for you to feel comfortable, understood, and clear about where we’re headed. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’d like to be different, and what feels most important to focus on first. You won’t be expected to tell your entire story or dive into anything before you’re ready. By the end of the session, I want you to have a sense that this is a safe space, that I understand what you’re hoping to work on, and that we have a thoughtful plan for moving forward together.

Strengths

I bring warmth, curiosity, humor, and a strong ability to notice patterns that may be hard to see from the inside. I’m not a confrontational therapist, but I am thoughtful and honest, and I’ll gently help you look at things from a different perspective when it may be useful. My style is down-to-earth, nonjudgmental, and a little irreverent at times, while still making room for the serious work.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is an adult who may look capable on the outside but feels overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or worn down internally. They may be dealing with the impact of childhood trauma, difficult relationships, a high-stress profession, or experiences they have never fully had the chance to process. They are often thoughtful and self-aware, but may still find themselves repeating patterns, struggling with boundaries, overthinking, or feeling disconnected from who they used to be. They do not need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, reduce the impact of past experiences, build resilience, and feel more grounded and confident in their lives.

Treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I draw from DBT to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and communication skills, especially during stressful or overwhelming situations.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients notice unhelpful thought patterns, understand how thoughts affect emotions and behavior, and practice more balanced ways of responding.

EMDR

I use EMDR to help clients process distressing or traumatic experiences so those memories feel less emotionally intense and have less impact on the present.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based stress reduction to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and body responses, and to respond with greater calm and intention.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I use IFS-informed approaches to help clients understand the different parts of themselves, including protective patterns that may have developed during difficult experiences. This can help clients respond to themselves with more curiosity, compassion, and choice.
