I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in California. I have been doing therapy for 15 years. My goal is to use my education and experience to assist you in making your life easier. I want to help you understand that you are strong and you can make changes in your life to make it more the way you want it or need it to be. I look forward to working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am looking forward to our first session. That time is set aside to get to know you and understand what you are going through. We will talk about confidentiality and limits of that. I will help you create realistic and achievable goals that you want to work towards.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is that I really care about people. My goal in life is to be of service to others. I do that by always striving to be present and authentic. I will be honest with you, even when it is hard to hear. I will also be your cheerleader and push you to make difficult decisions.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sometimes we get so overwhelmed it is difficult to identify the problem. When we are able to identify the problem openly we can work together to find possible solutions.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing can help you identify what you want to change in your life, whether that is working through something that happened in the past or changing a specific behavior that is holding you back.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

By learning to identify our emotions and where they come from we can better understand ourselves. This is a big step forward to figuring out how to make changes in our lives that are beneficial to us.

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology focuses on what you can do, rather than what is wrong with you. You are not your illness, but you are a combination of your strengths and personality traits. This may help you to embrace who you are and accept mental illness.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you identify and learn to change behaviors that are not healthy or helpful. This approach empowers you to make changes in your life so that you can live your best life.
