About me

Hi, I'm Christine, and I'm glad you're here! Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 15 years working in the sports industry, where I saw firsthand the pressure, expectations, and sacrifices that often come with pursuing excellence. That experience shapes the way I practice today. I enjoy working with adults who are navigating stress, burnout, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, or simply feeling like they've lost sight of themselves. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and practical because I believe therapy is a team effort. My goal is for you to feel seen, understood, and empowered to build a life that's aligned with your values, not just one that looks successful from the outside.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Think of our first session as the beginning of a collaborative partnership. We'll talk about what's been going on, what led you to therapy, and what you hope life looks like moving forward. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, and together we'll identify meaningful goals and develop a plan that's tailored to you. You don't have to have everything figured out before you walk in—my role is to help you take that first step. My hope is that after the first session, you leave feeling seen, heard, understood, and optimistic about what's possible and know that you have someone in your corner. Remember, you don't have to have everything figured out of how you got here (as that alone can be overwhelming with where to start!). I'll meet you where you're at and we'll take things one step at a time.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Have you ever had someone who saw something in you before you could see it in yourself? That's the kind of therapist I strive to be. There is more in you than you can currently see, and together we're going to uncover it I believe everyone has strengths, even when life makes them difficult to recognize. My role is to help you reconnect with those strengths while giving you practical tools to navigate whatever you're facing. Clients often appreciate that I'm authentic, collaborative, and direct—I won't just sit back and nod for 50 minutes and ask, "how does that make you feel?" repetitively. I'm going to challenge you to do the work that it's going to take to build your best life possible and build meaningful change that extends beyond our sessions. Seeing my clients achieve their own personal "wins" in various areas of their lives is incredibly fulfilling and drives my own "why."

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults who thrive in high-performance environments and are ready to invest in themselves with the same commitment they bring to the rest of their lives. I have a particular passion for working with athletes, coaches, sports executives, athletic department staff, and the people who dedicate their lives to sports. Whether you're navigating burnout, a major life transition, relationship challenges, grief, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, my goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths and move forward with purpose.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

One of the reasons I enjoy using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is because it shifts the focus from trying to "fix" every uncomfortable thought or emotion to learning how to live a meaningful life alongside them. We can't always control what shows up in our minds, but we can choose how we respond. Together, we'll identify what's most important to you and develop practical strategies that help you move toward the person you want to be, even when life feels difficult. What is ACT? Imagine you're driving a car toward the life you want. Along the way, anxiety climbs into the passenger seat. Self-doubt gets in the back. Stress won't stop talking. You have two choices: Pull over and wait for them to leave... Or acknowledge that they're there and keep driving toward what matters. That's the heart of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the idea that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. Sometimes our minds develop patterns of thinking that sound convincing but aren't entirely accurate, leading us to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or discouraged. Together, we'll slow those patterns down, examine whether they're helping or hurting you, and develop healthier ways of thinking that support the life you're working toward. My goal isn't to force "positive thinking," but to help you see situations more clearly and respond with greater confidence and intention. Imagine you're watching a hockey game and one referee keeps making the wrong calls. Eventually, you'd start questioning that referee's judgment. Our minds can work the same way. Sometimes they tell us: "You're going to fail." "You're not good enough." "Everyone else has it figured out." Those thoughts can feel true simply because we've heard them so many times. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps us step back, examine those automatic thoughts, and ask: Is this actually true? Is there another way to view this situation? Together, we'll work to replace unhelpful thinking patterns with perspectives that are more balanced, realistic, and supportive of your goals.

Existential

Existential therapy focuses on some of life's biggest questions- such as identity, purpose, meaning, freedom, and how we want to spend the time we have. There are seasons in life when we begin asking, "Who am I now?" or "Is this the life I truly want?" Rather than offering quick answers, we'll explore those questions together and work toward creating a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and aligned with your values. Imagine a hockey player. They've worn the same jersey for twenty years. One day... The season ends. They retire. The jersey comes off. Suddenly they ask: "If I'm not a hockey player anymore...who am I?" That's existential therapy. It isn't really about hockey. It's about identity. The jersey could be: CEO Coach Parent Caregiver Spouse Therapist Student Eventually... Life asks all of us: "Who are you underneath the jersey?" You are more than the roles that you serve.

Motivational Interviewing

Have you ever known you wanted to make a change but felt pulled in two different directions? That's a normal part of being human. Motivational Interviewing (MI) helps us explore those mixed feelings without judgment so you can make decisions that align with your values, goals, and the life you want to create. My role isn't to convince you—it's to help you uncover your own reasons for change and build the confidence to follow through. Imagine I'm riding in the passenger seat. You're driving. You say: "I don't know which way to go." I don't take the wheel. I don't grab the steering wheel. I don't tell you where to drive. Instead I ask: "Where are you hoping to end up?" Then: "What's making this decision difficult?" Then: "What do you think your future self would thank you for?" Eventually... You choose the direction. That's MI.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

We all experience moments when our emotions feel bigger than our ability to manage them. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provides practical tools to help you slow down, tolerate distress, communicate more effectively, and make choices that align with your long-term goals instead of reacting in the moment. These skills can help you feel more grounded, resilient, and confident when life becomes challenging. Imagine you're caught in the middle of a storm. You can't stop the rain. You can't control the wind. But you can learn how to navigate through it. DBT is about building the skills that help you weather life's storms without getting swept away by them. Together, we'll work on staying grounded during difficult moments, managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and responding in ways that move you closer to the life you want and not farther away.
