I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping individuals achieve lasting wellness through a compassionate, evidence-based approach. I combine thoughtful medication management with practical Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies, empowering clients to understand their challenges, build healthier thought patterns, and develop skills that promote resilience. My goal is to create a supportive partnership where you feel heard, understood, and equipped to move toward the life you want.
In your first session, we’ll take time to get to know you—your concerns, history, current symptoms, and what you hope to achieve in treatment. I’ll ask questions about your mental health, medical background, lifestyle, and strengths so we can form a clear picture of your needs. Together, we’ll discuss possible treatment options, which may include medication, therapy strategies, or both, and I’ll explain how each works so you can make informed decisions. My goal is for you to leave that first appointment feeling heard, understood, and with a clear plan for our next steps.
What stands out about my approach is my ability to combine evidence-based medication management with practical, solution-focused strategies tailored to the unique stressors first responders face. I understand the high-pressure, high-stakes environments you work in and the toll they can take on mental health, from chronic stress and sleep disruption to trauma exposure. My style is direct, collaborative, and geared toward restoring function quickly while building long-term resilience. I focus on tools that fit into your demanding schedule, helping you manage symptoms, maintain peak performance, and protect your mental well-being over the course of your career.
My ideal clients are people who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated with how their mental health symptoms are affecting their daily life. Many are dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms, irritability, poor focus, low motivation, sleep issues, or stress related to work, relationships, or major life changes. I work well with individuals who want practical help — not just to talk about problems, but to understand what’s happening in their brain and learn realistic strategies to function better. I tend to connect best with clients who are open to education, skill-building, and making gradual changes. Some of my clients have tried treatment before and felt like medications or therapy “didn’t work,” while others are just starting out and want guidance on where to begin. I also frequently work with people navigating substance use concerns, burnout, or feeling mentally exhausted from trying to keep up with responsibilities. My approach is collaborative, direct, and focused on real-life improvement. I aim to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, and also gently challenged to move forward. Whether the goal is better focus, more emotional stability, improved relationships, or simply feeling more like themselves again, I work alongside clients to build a clear and manageable plan toward meaningful change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a PMHNP, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with medication management allows you to address both the biological and psychological aspects of mental health. Medication can stabilize neurochemical imbalances and reduce acute symptoms, while CBT equips patients with skills to identify and challenge maladaptive thoughts, modify behaviors, and prevent relapse. Even in brief medication visits, you can incorporate micro-CBT interventions such as psychoeducation on the thought–feeling–behavior connection, cognitive restructuring to address negative beliefs about treatment, and behavioral activation to promote engagement in rewarding activities. CBT techniques can also improve medication adherence by helping patients examine and reframe beliefs that hinder consistent use. This combined approach enhances treatment outcomes, fosters self-efficacy, and supports long-term recovery.
