Greetings! I'm glad you're visiting this page and considering starting a new journey. Seeking therapy can be hard sometimes, but you are here and ready to take the next step. Whatever brings you here, I want to help. I have been a licensed counselor since 2010 and have worked in the mental health field since 1999. I have worked with many people over the years to help them with a wide variety of topics, concerns, and situations. I have experience assisting people who have experienced trauma, depression, grief, stresses, difficulty adjusting to new phases of life, and anxiety. I strive for my virtual office to be a safe space for everyone, so come on in. My cat, Sam, might pop into your sessions from time to time. She is very friendly and will keep your confidences. We'll address your situation with empathy and respect and get you on the journey to wellness and peace. Welcome, and be well!
At your first session, we will talk about your background, what brings you here, and your goals. We will formulate a path to take that will lead you toward your goals. I like to give folks coping skills they can use in everyday situations from the very beginning of our work together. After the first session, I'll explore how your coping skills are working for you and we will practice new skills. We will also review what we discussed at the end of each session so we can see your progress. You can do it!
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-centered therapy. I also like to incorporate your creativity into the work we do together. I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I like to discuss what these tools and methods mean so we can use the best approach for you. You are a unique and individual being, so together, we will design a treatment plan just for you. No cookie cutter treatment!
I have years of experience assisting survivors of trauma and people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, and stress. You can do this!
