I’m a licensed therapist based in Southern California, offering individual therapy and couples counseling. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and have trained and worked in community mental health, private practice, and nonprofit settings. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented, drawing from psychodynamic therapy as well as CBT, DBT, attachment theory, and relational modalities. I’m especially passionate about helping couples strengthen their connection, supporting men in navigating life’s challenges, and working with women healing from male-oriented trauma.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and conversational space where the focus is on getting to know you and your unique story. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your background, and what you hope to gain from our work together. This session is not about having everything figured out, but rather about beginning to explore your concerns in a safe and supportive environment. I’ll share more about my approach and how we can tailor the process to fit your needs and goals. It’s completely normal to feel some nerves going into therapy, and I’ll do my best to help you feel at ease as we build a foundation of trust. By the end of our first meeting, you’ll have a clearer sense of how therapy with me can support your growth and healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to balance warmth and empathy with direct, therapeutically-appropriate challenges that support growth. Clients often tell me they feel both deeply understood and encouraged to step outside of old patterns, which helps them make meaningful progress. My integrated approach—rooted in psychodynamic therapy but also drawing from CBT, DBT, attachment theory, and relational modalities—allows me to adapt to each client’s unique needs. I bring extensive experience from community mental health, nonprofit work, and private practice, where I’ve supported individuals and couples through a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. What stands out in my work is my commitment to creating a safe, collaborative space where clients can gain insight, develop new tools, and experience real, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals and couples who are ready to engage in meaningful self-reflection and work toward lasting change. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, struggling with communication, managing stress, or navigating challenges in their relationships. I work well with men who want to better understand themselves and build healthier connections, as well as with women who are healing from male-centered trauma or relational difficulties. Couples often seek me out when they feel disconnected, caught in cycles of conflict, or unsure how to rebuild trust and intimacy. Whether your goals involve gaining insight, building practical tools, or fostering stronger relationships, I provide a safe, collaborative space to support your journey.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

My foundational training and experience are fundamentally rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on uncovering the unconscious patterns and early relational experiences that shape how we think, feel, and relate today. In practice, this means I help clients gain deeper insight into the “why” behind their struggles, whether in relationships, self-esteem, or emotional well-being. By bringing these patterns to light, we create space for new choices, healthier connections, and lasting growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, or low mood. Together, we explore the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and practice strategies to create healthier, more balanced perspectives. CBT provides practical tools you can use right away—like reframing negative thinking or building coping skills—so that progress feels tangible and empowering. I often combine CBT with deeper insight-oriented work to support both immediate relief and long-term growth.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I help partners move beyond surface-level conflict to uncover the deeper needs and patterns driving disconnection. Using structured dialogue and evidence-based approaches like Imago Therapy, I guide couples in developing empathy, improving communication, and creating emotional safety. Together, we work on turning conflict into opportunities for growth, helping each partner feel seen and valued. My goal is to support couples in building a stronger, more conscious, and connected relationship—whether they’re dating, engaged, or married.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and staying grounded in the present moment. In our work, we may focus on DBT’s core areas—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—depending on your unique needs. These tools can be especially helpful when life feels overwhelming or when old patterns keep resurfacing. I integrate DBT strategies with deeper insight-oriented approaches so clients can both manage challenges effectively and understand the roots of their struggles.

Imago Relationship Theory

I incorporate Imago Relationship Therapy to help couples understand how early relational experiences influence the way they connect and conflict in their current partnership. Through guided dialogues, I create a structured space where each partner can feel truly heard, seen, and understood without blame or defensiveness. This process helps couples transform conflict into opportunities for healing, empathy, and deeper connection. By working through these patterns together, partners can rebuild trust, strengthen intimacy, and create a more conscious, loving relationship.

I've been working with Brandon for over a year now and am consistently grateful for the ways in which he shows up in our work. He's an active listener, curious, emotionally steady, adaptable, honest, kind, and respectful. He has a fun sense of humor and always makes me feel safe. I'm particularly glad to have found in him a therapist who never tells me what to do, but who instead helps me understand options as they present themselves and to thoughtfully appreciate my own decisions.
