New to Grow
Hello! I’m Shelley, and I’ve been providing mental health therapy in western Colorado for over 20 years. My background is in outpatient community mental health care, and I have a master’s degree in guidance and counseling. I've been specializing in treating trauma, depression, LGBTQ and trans, anxiety and ADHD, grief and loss, and other issues with adults, and I look forward to providing you with professional mental health support.
In our sessions, we begin with getting to know each other to develop a working relationship, identify some basic goals you want to achieve, and clarify the strengths that you bring to therapy.
My strengths in working with others include compassion, expertise, and wisdom. I'm able to relate to and work with a diverse clientele, and naturally use active listening and cultural competence in my practice.
My practice is best positioned to serve individuals, including teens and adults and older adults, via telehealth, and all others are best served in-person. For clients who have significant trauma and wish to use the EMDR protocol, in-person therapy is best. My ideal client may or may not have experience with therapy, and they are motivated to relieve their symptoms and are open to seeking guidance, help, and support in addressing their mental health challenges.
