I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed in the states of Illinois and Indiana. I am based in Peoria, Illinois, and will be working with clients from the state of andIllinois Indiana via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and loss, utilizing evidence-based practice, including CBT, ACT, EFT, EMDR, and Solution and Strength-Based interventions. I have completed EMDR Training with the EMDR Institute, and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCT) My approach in therapy is client-centered, focused on creating a therapeutic alliance, and through motivational interviewing, we will develop goals and utilize various strategies and interventions to find healing and balance in their lives. I have found my approach and strengths are with young adults to older adults who may be dealing with circumstances, decisions, or transitions in life that may feel overwhelming and take the form of depression, anxiety, or disruption in various areas in their lives. I will work and support clients with emotional regulation for balance to navigate these challenging periods in their lives, including skill development for positive coping and validating self-worth that will lead to a more positive outlook on life. My communication style is open, honest, and supportive. As the therapeutic alliance is created, it allows for depth and opportunities to be curious for self-discovery and healing growth. I have been an LCSW for over 30 years providing support to clients, patients, and families through the most difficult and life-changing events. I believe in the counseling process and that grow, change and healing can happen to lead to content, balanced and peaceful life.
In our first session, I will be providing supportive listening, and asking clarifying questions as we explore worries, concerns, and stressors that have brought you to counseling. We will begin our initial connection and our relationship foundation to allow for positive changes as client goals are established.
As I engage with clients, my goal is to truly understand your story, not only your worries, concerns and stressors, but also your strengths and goals. The importance of therapeutic alliance, the building fo trust,mutual respect and shared goals is an ongoing focus for the counseling relationship.
My ideal clients are those who are receptive and actively engaged as we enter a therpeutic relationship, with the understanding that healing and self discovery is a process.
