Are you wanting to improve yourself or your situation, but don't know where to start? Have you been coping in your own ways, but are looking for different or more effective options? I work with my clients to empower them to reach their goals and thrive. I enjoy working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, work problems, ADHD, life transitions, boundaries, self esteem, and more. My experience in inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings have shaped my use of diverse styles of therapy. I most often use CBT, DBT, trauma informed, mindfulness, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy that are individualized for each person. You are in control of your journey to healing. My role as a therapist is to support you through that journey. I look forward to working with you!
In my first session, I like to go over your background to understand how your current struggles fit in and connect to your life. I want to know what things have helped you, what things haven't, and your own goals. This is also a good time to ask me questions.
I use a blend of person centered trauma informed CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a novel evidenced-based psychotherapy that uses eye movements to address common problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias, and PTSD.
I believe my strengths are being able to connect with clients and provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and informal environment. I truly believe every person is unique. This means I expect my clients to find some tools and interventions don't work for them (THIS IS NORMAL!). We'll just work together to find what does work.
Most of my clients fall into one or more of the categories- ADHD, parents, LGBT+, young adults, and PTSD.
