About me

With over a decade of experience, I am a licensed therapist specializing in the unique challenges faced by young working adult Asian women. My approach is rooted in cultural competence, acknowledging the intricate balance of collectivist values and individual aspirations, and navigating pressures like filial piety and the 'model minority' stereotype. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space to address workplace dynamics, identity formation, family stress, and the journey toward self-compassion and healthy boundaries, helping you thrive professionally and personally

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our initial meeting, we will commence with brief introductions to familiarize ourselves with each other. Following that, we will delve into the particular challenges and issues you are currently encountering. This exploration will serve as the foundation for crafting a customized plan that we can collaboratively address and navigate in subsequent sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am an experienced, culturally-affirming therapist dedicated to empowering Asian American young women professionals as they navigate adulthood and define themselves outside of societal and familial expectations. Drawing from years of specialized practice, I help clients explore intersecting identities, process intergenerational trauma and microaggressions, and challenge rigid gender roles. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative environment where you can shed the 'people-pleasing' tendency, awaken your sense of agency, and build a life that aligns with your authentic self". In the grief therapy session, clients can expect a supportive and empathetic environment where they are encouraged to share their feelings and experiences related to loss. We will likely explore the nature of the loss, assess the client's coping mechanisms, and collaboratively set goals for the therapeutic process. Establishing a trusting relationship is a key focus, allowing clients to express their grief while beginning the healing journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My goal is to help people find healing and resilience as they navigate the complex emotions associated with loss- whether that loss is a friend, family member, pet, or other life circumstance such as newly diagnose with serious illness. Helping clients fostering a sense of hope and renewal in the face of adversity.

My treatment methods

Grief Therapy

Grief counseling may help people of all ages process and cope with their feelings after experiencing a loss — whether that loss is a friend, family member, pet, illness, or other life circumstance all in a safe space.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Even if the therapist and client do not share the same culture, a client who feels like their culture is recognized and acknowledged will likely be helpful and therapeutic than one who feels like their identity is ignored or minimized. I makes it a priority to be culturally sensitive.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I've utilized Acceptance and commitment therapy to help with prolonged, complicated grief by encouraging clients to use mindfulness to accept their experience.
