About me

Hi! I'm Kim, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and find healing. I specialize in trauma focused therapy, anxiety, depression, grief, and stress related concerns, and I tailor my approach to each client's unique needs. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can process your experiences, build resilience, and move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll take time to get to know one another and talk about what brought you to therapy. I'll ask about your history, current challenges, and goals so I can better understand your needs. This session is also your chance to ask questions, share what feels most important, and get a sense of how I work. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood as we begin building a plan for moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment and my use of a flexible, client centered approach. I draw from evidence based methods, including ART, CBT, DBT, ACT and mindfulness, to tailor treatment to each person's unique needs. With years of experience in trauma focused care, I specialize in helping clients process painful experiences, reduce anxiety and build coping skills that last. Clients often tell me they appreciate my balance of compassion, practical tools, and a clear path forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are those who feel weighed down by trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or life transitions and are ready to take steps toward change. They may struggle with overwhelming emotions, negative thought patterns, or feeling stuck in the past. What they share in common is the courage to seek support and the desire to create a healthier relationship with themselves and others.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients to build healthier relationships with their thoughts and emotions. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult feelings, ACT focuses on developing mindfulness, increasing psychological flexibility, and living in alignment with personal values. Together, we work on accepting what's outside of your control and committing to actions that create a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns and learn practical skills to challenge negative thinking, manage emotions, and make positive changes. CBT is goal oriented and focused on giving you tools you can use in your day to day life to reduce stress, improve mood, and build healthier coping strategies.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help clients manage intense emotions, improve relationships and cope with stress in healthier ways. DBT combines acceptance strategies with practical skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and communication. In sessions, we focus on building balance - learning to accept yourself while also making meaningful changes.

Eclectic

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I draw from a variety of evidence based methods to fit each client's unique needs. No single approach works for everyone, so I tailor sessions by combining techniques such as CBT, DBT, ACT, ART, mindfulness and trauma focused therapies. This flexible style allows us to create a personalized path toward healing and growth that works best for you.
