I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with nearly two decades of experience supporting adults through life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 2007 and have been licensed since 2011. Over the past 19 years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, and in 2021 I opened my private practice—an experience I have deeply enjoyed, particularly the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term therapeutic relationships with adult clients. I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief and loss, and recovery from trauma. My clinical work is grounded in the belief that healing and growth happen within safe, supportive relationships. I am especially passionate about helping individuals develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others while learning tools to manage stress, emotional overwhelm, and the impact of past experiences. My path into this work was shaped early on by my family. Growing up with a psychologist and a public health nurse as parents, I was surrounded by values of service, compassion, and care for others. From a young age, I knew I wanted a career centered on connection, support, and uplifting people during difficult moments in their lives. Before entering private practice, I spent many years working in county-contracted, nonprofit agencies throughout California, serving adults, children, and families from historically underserved communities. This work deeply informed my clinical perspective and strengthened my commitment to providing accessible, culturally responsive, and respectful care. Today, I bring that same dedication, experience, and heart into my private practice, offering a warm, collaborative, and supportive space for clients seeking healing, growth, and meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is primarily an assessment and a chance for us to begin getting to know one another. This session gives you space to share what has brought you to therapy, including your current symptoms, challenges, concerns, and what you are hoping to gain from our work together. We will talk about what feels most important to address right now and begin identifying treatment goals in a collaborative and thoughtful way. I am equally interested in learning about what is already working for you. We will explore your strengths, personal resources, and coping skills—both those that have been helpful in the past and those that may no longer feel effective. Understanding how you have managed difficulties before helps us build on what you already do well while identifying areas where new tools or perspectives may be useful. The first session also allows me to learn more about your background and personal history, including experiences that may be shaping how you feel and relate today. There is no pressure to share everything at once; we move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you. Overall, the first session is a starting point—one focused on understanding your needs, building rapport, and setting the foundation for meaningful and effective therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out most about my therapeutic approach is the quality of the relationship I build with my clients. I strive to create a space that feels warm, friendly, approachable, and genuinely human—one where you can feel comfortable being candid, honest, and fully yourself. Clients often share that they feel deeply heard, understood, and supported in our work together, which I believe is the foundation for meaningful change. My approach is highly collaborative and client-centered. I follow your lead and honor what feels most important for you to talk about in each session. I view therapy as a partnership, and I welcome feedback so that our work can continue to align with your needs, preferences, and goals. I focus on creating an environment of unconditional positive regard—one that is non-judgmental, empathic, and respectful of your unique experiences. I am strength-based and intentional about recognizing what you are already doing well. Alongside exploring challenges, I help you identify personal strengths, resilience, and resources that can be built upon. I use attuned, reflective listening to help clarify emotions, patterns, and experiences in a way that helps you feel truly “got.” Sessions with me tend to be conversational and organic. I often use appropriate humor when helpful, and I allow clients to do most of the talking while I listen carefully, reflect, and offer insights that feel relevant and grounded. My goal is for therapy to feel supportive, empowering, and meaningful—helping you gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with individuals—especially women—who are seeking thoughtful, compassionate support as they navigate life’s complexities, transitions, and emotional challenges. Many of the clients I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or disconnected from themselves or others. They may be juggling multiple roles and expectations, questioning their next steps, or trying to make sense of patterns that no longer serve them. If you are looking for a space to slow down, reflect, and build tools to feel more grounded and empowered, we may be a good fit. I have a particular passion for women’s wellness issues, including identity development, self-esteem, boundaries, and the mental and emotional load that often accompanies caregiving, parenting, and professional responsibilities. I also enjoy working with individuals and couples on relationship concerns—whether that involves communication challenges, navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, or understanding relational patterns that repeat across time. Many clients I serve are managing anxiety or depression, coping with life transitions such as career changes, parenthood, or shifts in relationships, or feeling uncertain about how to move forward with greater clarity and confidence. My approach to therapy is collaborative, strength-based, and highly individualized. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—helping you better understand yourself, your experiences, and your inner world while offering guidance, perspective, and practical tools. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels approachable, warm, flexible, and supportive, where you can show up as you are without fear of judgment. Clinically, my work is integrative. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build coping skills, and develop strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and mood more effectively. At the same time, I incorporate psychodynamic interventions to explore deeper emotional themes, relational dynamics, and the ways past experiences may be influencing present-day challenges. This combination allows us to address both immediate concerns and longer-term growth, helping you feel better now while also fostering insight and lasting change. I am especially well suited for clients who value reflection, self-awareness, and an active partnership in therapy. Whether your goals include reducing anxiety,

Integrative

I am very client-centered and strength-based in my approach, and I collaborate actively with each clients to individualize our time together to best address your goals and needs. This means that we incorporate the focus and interventions that help you feel supported and benefited. I welcome client's feedback on what's working and what needs to be changed up to help you leave sessions feeling nurtured and inspired.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find that each client can benefit from learning more about how they think and what they believe and ultimately deepening their own self-awareness of the roots of these thinking patterns and underlying core beliefs. With this clarity and insight gained, they are then able to better understand how their thoughts and core beliefs impact their emotions, behavior patterns, relationships, and overall functioning. We then work to challenge patterns of unhelpful, upsetting thinking for more positive, accurate, and helpful thoughts. This cognitive behavioral work can be transformative at improving client's relationships and overall functioning.
