LCSW, 25 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a licensed Clinical Social worker with 20 plus years of experience helping clients with relationship issues and life changes. I specialize in working with adults, teens, and young children. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.
During the first session, clients should expect to feel welcome and unconditionally accepted. We will talk about their needs and my holistic approach. They can expect to find a listening ear, support, and a knowledgeable partner who will help them reach their goals at their own pace.
I am intentional about creating a warm and welcoming space for clients to explore challenging and often painful issues without judgment. I mindfully co-create and hold a space where transformation can happen and hope can be sustained. I position myself as a thought partner who supports the client throughout the growth and discovery process. I have been described as present, warm, supportive, and knowledgeable.
I am best suited to support clients who struggle with relationship challenges; identity formation; and life transitions including parenthood as well as loss. I am glad to work with those who are interested in the self-discovery process, what motivates them, barriers to change, and those who are invested in learning news ways to reach goals.
I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my work with clients to support them as they address and begin to challenge unhelpful thoughts, which can derail or make reaching goals a more challenging process.
In my work, I am intentional about partnering with the client to customize an approach which is respective of cultural, communal, and familial beliefs and values.
I employ a trauma informed approach in my work generally and help clients to consider the myriad of ways that disruptive and unsettling experiences have informed their life choices and functioning. We work together to process those emotions and think about how to develop new coping and survival strategies.
I believe that everyone is the author of their own story and I often use a narrative approach to help clients take ownership of their story and access their power to determine outcomes in their lives.
My work is centered around relationships, both the rupture and reparative nature of that work. This process supports a person's ability to better understand themselves and others.
