New to Grow
I am very passionate and dedicated when it comes to helping all clients that I work with. I am a full time school counselor in a public school setting where I get to work with parents and their children. I have also done online therapy for the past year working with adults. I am able to help my clients better manage their emotions, find relief from negative thought patterns, feel more grounded, calm, and in control of their lives. In sessions, I combine mindfulness- based cognitive therapy (MBCT) with a supportive, down-to-earth approach. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen and safe to be fully yourself. Expect a balance of thoughtful insight, collaborative problem-solving, and tools you can use right away to start feeling better.
Anxiety, stress, and self esteem are some of the main issues that I have worked with clients on. During initial sessions, we will be able to identify and explore deep, rooted issues which will lead us to processing trauma and create a plan and coping mechanisms that are beneficial and paramount to your healing and growing process. Clients see gradual, positive changes as we navigate throughout therapy sessions.
I have worked in a public school setting for 13 years. This has helped me gain experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I also have 3 years of clinical experience working with adolescents and adults in an in-person setting as well as 1 year experience of virtual teletherapy experience working with adolescents and adults. I am licensed professional counselor in Louisiana as an LPC and nationally certified counselor, NCC. CBT, Person Centered, and Mindfulness are approaches that I mostly use in therapy. Typically, in the first sessions, we will be able to identify what brought you to therapy and discuss what your expectations are from therapy. Clients lead sessions which means you are in control of the discussion topics. I am able to facilitate and guide the discussion structure and thought process through CBT and Mindfulness techniques.
Do you feel overwhelmed by stress, anxious thoughts, or a constant inner critic? Maybe self-care feels impossible, or you are just exhausted from trying to hold it all together. If you are struggling with anxiety, stress, or self-esteem, you are not alone. I help my clients better manage their emotions. Are you ready to take the next step towards feeling more like yourself again?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is extremely useful because it helps to reframe thoughts and behaviors which ultimately influences the way people feel. This theory focuses on how our feelings, the way we think, and our actions are all intertwined and influence each other. CBT can help clients see things from different perspectives, open up to trying new things, encourages self reflection and the ability to process experiences in a healthy way.
