You may find yourself experiencing toxic relationships/codependency, eating disorders, drugs & alcohol, anxiety, and perfectionism – the list of the ways we distract and soothe ourselves from discomfort goes on and on. You may find the need to learn more about yourself and your relationships, process life events, share things that are difficult to share with other people, or to explore how past experiences have shaped you. I am passionate about helping clients foster self-awareness by using motivational interviewing, to meet you right where you are. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. I am a National Board Certified Counselor. I have spent over 13 years in the mental health field, and 8 years as a mental health professional. You don’t need to be in a crisis to benefit from therapy. Ongoing wellness is crucial to a balanced life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, followed by the challenges you've been facing. Through an intake, we together will determine a plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

We are all recovering from something. I found that with certain resources I can now live my life with more love, compassion, presence, attention, intention, and purpose. My treatment methods

Adlerian

I attended Adler University, and am well-versed in Individual Psychology and the benefits of community engagement.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy is a type of psychotherapy that incorporates mindfulness practices that include present-moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises. It is a modified form of cognitive therapy that was formulated to address depression. Mindfulness therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on learning how to be more aware of thoughts, feelings, emotions, surroundings, and situations, and to reduce automatic responses.

Jungian

The role of the Jungian method is to heal this inner child. Through a process of conscious “reparenting”, I assist individuals in recognizing the inner child’s pain.
