New to Grow
I started in education in 2010 and I transitioned to counseling in 2020. I enjoy helping clients reach their goals, feel better, and be happier and healthier in their daily lives. If ever there is something that does not work, I like to try and find a better approach that fits. My approach to therapy is solution-focused and problem-solving. I want to be an ally in helping to find realistic solutions to struggles you are having. I want therapy to be a process that is helpful, empowering, successful, and attainable.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect to find empowerment within themselves to find solutions and learn contentment through acceptance.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I love learning. As a former teacher, I am a life-long learner and try to inspire others to be as well. I love the phrase, "I am doing the best I can with what I have, and I always have room for growth and improvement." It is okay to rest, but if you stop learning, you stop growing, and if you stop growing, you are stuck. I love talking about "famous failures" and see myself as one of them. So, when I "fail" I try to "fail forward" by learning and growing from what didn't work as I try new approaches. That is what I hope to model for others and inspire them to do as well.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Clients can expect to find empowerment within themselves to find solutions and learn contentment through acceptance. Clients who are most successful in their therapy and meeting their goals are those who are intentional and consistent.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I like using solution-focused treatments because I feel like it allows clients to have a more specific and customized treatment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT and DBT are closely connected styles of treatment. I like to use these as a good foundation for initial coping skills.
EMDR
I am EMDR trained and I can offer EMDR as a form of trauma treatment.
