LCSW, 9 years of experience
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my Masters from Azusa Pacific University and have been practicing for 8 years. I have worked with all age groups, and specifically provided my focus working with adults and older adults. Assisting in providing guidance in current or past life stressors, and finding the strength to work through those challenges.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I have been a clinician for several years and I am open and empathetic to your current situation, nothing surprises me.
I am here to help you work through what is needed at the time. Sometimes talking it out, being provided new tools, and working through challenges is helpful when you are feeling overwhelmed and defeated.
CBT places an emphasis on helping individuals learn to be their own therapists. Through exercises in the session as well as “homework” exercises outside of sessions, clients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior.
To provide knowledge, resources, and tools to improve mental health outcomes for individuals, families, and groups. To look deeper at the root of the problem and learn how to process and improve issue.

I texted her and mentioned that I was having negative thoughts; I had to schedule a different day due to a schedule conflict. When I saw her during this session her first words were with attitude, “You’re the one who scheduled this session, so what’s going on”. This made me feel like she was irritated and not concerned about my well-being. I would not recommend this therapist if you are looking for someone empathetic and concerned for you when in need of immediate help.
