I am a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in healthcare. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from NOVA Southeastern University and a second master’s in psychiatry from Wilkes University. I specialize in treating individuals with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and insomnia. My mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to help my patients achieve better mental health and improve their overall quality of life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll start with a brief introduction to get to know each other, followed by a discussion about the challenges you’re currently facing. I’ll ask about your symptoms, medical history, and goals for treatment to better understand your needs. This session will help me create a personalized care plan tailored to your mental health journey, which we’ll continue to work on in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to truly listen, empathize, and build a trusting relationship with my patients. My dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner allows me to approach care holistically, addressing both physical and mental health needs. With over 10 years of experience, I’ve developed the ability to tailor treatments to each individual’s unique circumstances. My diverse background, combined with my dedication to evidence-based care, enables me to guide my patients toward meaningful progress and improved well-being.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individuals who are navigating mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, or insomnia and are ready to take steps toward improving their emotional well-being. My ideal clients are those seeking compassionate, nonjudgmental care and a collaborative approach to their treatment. They value personalized support, evidence-based interventions, and a safe space to address their concerns and achieve balance in their lives.

My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

For a patient with depression, CBT can help address thoughts like, “I’m a failure, and nothing will ever get better.” During the session, I would guide them to identify this negative thought and examine the evidence supporting or contradicting it. For example, we might explore times when they’ve succeeded in small tasks or overcome challenges, helping them see that failure is not absolute. Then, I’d help them reframe the thought into something more balanced, such as, “I’ve had setbacks, but I’ve also achieved things, and I can take small steps to improve.” Additionally, I’d encourage behavioral activation, such as reintroducing enjoyable activities, to break the cycle of inactivity and low mood. By combining thought restructuring with action steps, patients gain hope and begin to challenge the hopelessness of depression.
