I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse practitioner who graduated from UTHSC-Houston. I volunteered with the Leukemia clinic at MD Anderson Research Center, Vallbona Harris health clinic and completed an externship at MD Anderson. Later, I worked at Ben Taub General Hospital in a medical, psychiatric department for three years, where I managed clients with dual psychiatric medical diagnoses. I now work with clients across all life spans at Next Level Psychiatry.
I actively listen and educate clients on treatment plans and diagnoses. Patients leave my appointment with knowledge of diagnosis and prescribed treatment plan. Patients are put in the driving seat during an assessment, evaluation, diagnosing, and formulating a treatment plan with the knowledge that the best treatment is one that the patient is willing to embark on.
My approach centers on a holistic perspective, moving beyond mere psychopharmacology. Through attentive listening we are able to come up with an effective plan of care.
I love working with younger adults and adults who are currently dealing with current life stressors which could be causing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Listening empathetically and pointing out practical steps to make changes to promote a change in behavior.
