(she/her)
Hi! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) practicing in the states of California, Texas, Montana, and Wisconsin. I obtained my Masters from California State University, Long Beach and have been practicing for about 16 years. Throughout my experience as a clinician, I have worked in various settings providing direct services, training on various mental health topics, crisis support and advocacy, and clinical supervision. I am one of the co-founders and therapists at Bridges to Healing, a group private practice and training center based in California and Texas.
In our first session, we’ll start with introductions and review pertinent information such as confidentiality and treatment guidelines. From there, we’ll discuss what is leading you to seek support and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. This will help up develop some goals for treatment and direct our work together.
I consider some of my greatest strengths to be my ability to build strong therapeutic relationships, offer a compassionate and grounding presence, and approach the work collaboratively. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and empowered to explore whatever they need in their healing process. I bring curiosity, transparency, and respect to each session, and I actively encourage clients to have a voice in shaping their treatment.
I enjoy working with young adults who are navigating life transitions, relationships, and identity exploration. This period of self-discovery is rich with potential, and I deeply value the openness and curiosity that these clients bring to therapy. I also have a special passion for working with the South Asian population. Being first generation, I can identify with the complexities related to cultural identity, intergenerational dynamics, and value conflicts.
As a feminist therapist, I utilize a social justice lens and offer a collaborative, inclusive, and intersectional approach to the therapeutic process. I recognize how different aspects of identity (i.e. gender, race, class, age, sexual orientation, etc.) and power dynamics in society impact our self-concept and well-being. I believe that you are the expert on your own experiences and view therapy as a collaborative journey toward healing and growth.
My work is rooted in trauma-informed care, and I specialize in supporting individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. I’m committed to creating a safe and supportive experience to foster healing and empowerment. Some of my areas of focus include sexual abuse/assault, childhood abuse, and intimate partner violence.
I will focus on your strengths throughout treatment. I aim to build on your best qualities, help improve your resiliency, and shift your worldview to be more positive.
