About me

Hello and thank you for stopping by! I'd like to share a bit about me should you consider selecting me as your therapist. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and I am competent in Hispanic cultural needs, and especially enjoy working with the Asian and the Latino community. I provide weekly online talk therapy to Catholic based mental health adults in their 30s and 40s, especially those wanting to learn how to manage overwhelming emotions, navigate life stressors, find balance and stability, and learn tools for a calmer mind. I have experience helping clients with stress, anxiety, motivation, life transitions, relationships, and self esteem. I also have experience working with coping with life changes. I have been in the field of mental health for over 10 years and enjoy working with motivated, growth-oriented clients who want to improve their engagement in life. I am also a practicing Catholic, and use the Catholic faith into the therapeutic and treatment process, so those choosing me as their therapist, will be encouraged to use the Catholic faith, as I absolutely love working with Catholic clients because I get to share my full self with them. When I am not working, I spend time with my dog, either on another adventure across the world, or enjoying the outdoors locally! I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California: LCSW # 79259

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy, and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. In order to achieve a strong professional relationship, a trustworthy connection is provided through virtual appointments where you will feel comfortable to openly talk about your mental health. In this safe refuge, you will experience healing and know you are not alone. Together, we will put a plan in place to help you move forward and celebrate your successes, but most importantly, learn how you can treat yourself with compassion and kindness. My plan isnt to work with you forever, but to offer tools to build your confidence. Although some of my clients stick with me long-term, there is also plenty we can achieve together in a short amount of time.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strengths include being affirming, supportive, resourceful, and action-oriented, empowering those that want change. I gently challenge my clients, but also use humor along the way. I am mindful of their needs and open-minded to what works for you. I want you to feel empowered. I want you to feel passionate about your life as we re-discover your potential and maximize on your strengths while accepting your weaknesses with love and self-compassion.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I provide individual therapy to adults in their 30s and 40s. I provide short-term, solution-focused and faith-based therapy. Additionally, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing approaches are also utilized, but I also use a therapeutic approach as eclectic. I am open-minded to using other theories to meet your needs. I work well with those who want to learn how to manage overwhelming emotions, navigate life stressors, find balance and stability, and learn tools for a calmer mind. I also provide therapy to new therapists adjusting to the field of mental health. Please note that I am not a good fit with those experiencing suicide/homicide ideations, self-harming behaviors, court-ordered therapy clients, addictions, bipolar, borderline, borderline personality disorders, impulsive/conduct and/or substance use. ...And just a disclaimer, any evaluation for letters documenting the need for emotional support animals, disability insurance, worker’s compensation, time off from work/school, letters of support for students/others, unemployment, FMLA, jury duty, educational evaluations, letters of recommendation or references, accommodation, court orders, etc. will need to be provided by another mental health provider. The reason for this is to avoid having the performance of administrative functions interfere with your therapy.

My treatment methods

Faith based therapy

I include faith-based counseling and integrate your Catholic faith into the therapeutic process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. For example, challenging someone's belief that they "always fail" and replacing it with balanced and realistic thinking.

Strength-Based

I believe in looking at circumstances from a strengths-perspective, and having the strong belief in the possibility of personal growth and change.

Psychodynamic

I use talk therapy with clients so they can feel encouraged to speak freely about anything including difficulties, fears, desires, or anything that comes to mind, with the goal of reducing symptoms, but also increase their self-worth, and improve capacity for developing, and maintaining satisfying relationships.

Supportive

I encourage clients to talk about their feelings, concerns, and problems in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. Through the use of supportive therapy, focusing on providing emotional support, encouragement, and validation during the difficult part of person's life circumstances, or psychological challenges, become part of the client-therapist journey.
