New to Grow
My father took us to Mexico and supplied families with food, shelter, and clothing, started a medical clinic, and provided an ambulance. He was a natural social worker, and I caught the bug. I enjoy hearing people's stories and working with them to use their strengths to make their lives better. I have worked i hospital settings, IOP, out patient settings.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I let the clients tell me about themselves, what brought them to counseling, and how I can help.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I like to hear what the client's strengths are and build on those to help them look at possible solutions. I want the client to feel supported and have a relaxed therapeutic relationship. I ask the client how I can help and how they will know when they no longer need counseling. What will be in their life and what will they be doing?
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have worked with cancer patients, Alzheimer's, anxiety, substance abuse, domestic violence, adolescents, postpartum challenges, epilepsy, grief, work-related stress, divorce, LGBTQIA and transgender clients, and inner child work.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches, short-term therapy, and family systems work to support clients in reaching their goals.
