New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and approved Clinical Supervisor in Arizona. I believe that therapy works when you feel genuinely heard, supported, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I work with adults and couples navigating life transitions, relationships, anxiety, stress, depression, or just feeling overall stuck or disconnected in life. My approach is collaborative and down-to-earth, combining compassion, humor, and thoughtful challenge to help clients better understand themselves and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin making sense of what brought you to therapy. I'll ask questions about what's been going on, what you've tried, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will be different moving forward. You can expect a conversation that is relaxed, curious, and collaborative. My goal is that you leave the first session, and every session, feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of what we can begin working on together.
I do not simply sit back, nod, and ask, "How does that make you feel?" I'm actively engaged in the process with you. I ask questions, look for patterns, challenge you when it might be helpful, and encourage you to consider things from a different perspective. My experience working with people from many different settings, from everyday life challenges to crisis, trauma, complex systems, and some of life's hardest moments, have taught me that there is rarely only one way to understand a situation and move forward. I think outside the box, and I bring that same curiosity to sessions. You can expect compassion and humor, but also honesty, meaningful conversation, and someone who is willing to dig deeper with you when that is what growth requires. Therapy is about you, but we'll do the hard work together!
My ideal client is someone who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for something to change in their life. You don't have to have everything figured out or even know exactly what you want from therapy, you just have to be willing to show up, be curious, and take an honest look at what is and isn't working. I work especially well with clients who appreciate a therapist who is warm and supportive but also engaged, direct, and willing to challenge you when needed. If you're looking for a space where you can be yourself, think differently, laugh sometimes, and do meaningful work toward real change, we may be a great fit!
CBT is one of the primary approaches I use because it helps us look at the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and identify patterns. At the same time, I don't believe that therapy is a one-size-fits-all. Depending on what you need, I may incorporate elements of DBT, mindfulness-based therapy, somatic therapy, and solution-focused strategies. Some clients need practical tools and skill building, while others need more space and time to process, gain insight, or focus on what is already working. My approach is flexible and collaborative, we'll use the strategies that make the most sense for you!
