About me

I’m Jessica Oyefusi, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, wife, and mother who is passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change. I love spending time outdoors, going on adventures, exploring creative hobbies, and discovering new places in the city. I also enjoy slowing down with a good mystery book or watching documentaries on health and wellness. These personal joys keep me grounded and inspire the warmth, curiosity, and authenticity I bring to my work with clients.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our First Session In our first session, my priority is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and any questions or concerns you may have. I’ll also ask about your background, current challenges, and goals so I can better understand how to support you. Together, we’ll begin shaping a plan that fits your needs and helps you move toward the growth and healing you’re looking for.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

MY goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel genuinely seen and supported. I bring a calm, grounding presence to our sessions while also guiding you with practical tools and strategies you can apply in real life. My experience using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) allows me to help clients shift unhelpful thinking patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and build lasting coping skills. I’m deeply attuned to each client’s unique story and strengths, and I work to empower you to approach challenges with clarity, confidence, and hope.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, but you know you want things to feel different. Maybe you struggle with emotional ups and downs, find yourself overthinking, or notice unhelpful thought patterns that leave you feeling anxious, drained, or disconnected from yourself. Together, we can work on building healthier coping skills, strengthening your emotional balance, and breaking free from cycles that no longer serve you. If you value personal growth, are open to new perspectives, and are ready to better understand yourself, I’d love to support you. This is a space where you can feel encouraged, supported, and empowered as you grow.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In therapy we will explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to understand what’s fueling your emotional patterns. I help you identify unhelpful thinking habits, and we practice replacing them with healthier, more balanced perspectives. I help you build practical coping tools and emotional regulation skills, such as grounding exercises, reframing unhelpful thoughts, and identifying your emotions. You will be able to handle stressful moments with greater ease. With time and practice, these strategies can strengthen your confidence, bring more clarity to your thinking, and help you maintain emotional balance even in challenging situations.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In our work together, I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help you focus on your strengths, inner resources, and the small steps that can lead to meaningful change. Instead of spending a lot of time on what’s not working, we center our conversations on what you want your life to look like and what’s already helping you move in that direction. For example, if you come in feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward, I might ask you to imagine what life would look like if things suddenly improved overnight. From there, we’d explore the small signs that would tell you you’re making progress, and we’d build on the strategies and strengths you already have. This approach helps you set clear, realistic goals and take manageable steps forward, so you can create positive change with confidence and hope.
