New to Grow
For many of us, life can be tremendously challenging. And when we feel we have reached a breaking point, reaching out for help can be one of the most life altering and uplifting decisions. As a cancer survivor, and a person who has lived through and overcome adversity; I know first-hand what it means to feel anxious, depressed, and unsure of where to turn. Clinically supporting and helping others not only survive but thrive is something I am very passionate about. Whether you are dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, or an older adult facing life transition issues, I am here to help. With over 20 years of clinical experience, and a truly holistic approach, I will work in partnership with you to develop a step-by-step plan to help you feel empowered to heal mentally and emotionally
In our first session, I’ll go over office procedures, including fees, confidentiality, and communication. I’ll answer any questions you have about the information I provide or about therapy in general. I’ll also conduct a comprehensive assessment, and together we’ll create your treatment plan, which will outline goals, objectives, and interventions.
With over twenty years of clinical experience, I take a person-centered, holistic approach, using a variety of interventions tailored to your needs. I’m warm, compassionate, and dedicated to helping you achieve your best life.
I have worked well with many different people with a variety of backgrounds and concerns. I work best with adults and older adults and individuals with a history of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and chronic pain. I am also able to provide treatment for individuals wishing to improve communication skills, increase self-esteem, improve decision making and problem-solving skills, and those with anger management issues.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
This intervention helps people accept tough thoughts and feelings instead of avoiding or trying to control them, aiming to keep pain from turning into suffering.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Based on the idea that our thoughts shape our feelings and behaviors, CBT interventions aim to teach people how to shift their thinking, which in turn changes their emotions and actions.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and aware of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment. It’s used to help people focus on the present moment, noticing their thoughts and sensations without getting caught up in them or feeling overwhelmed.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation is used to provide knowledge, information, resources and coping strategies related to a specific mental health issue or condition. It empowers people with knowledge and skills to help improve treatment, build support and increase individual and community awareness.
