New to Grow
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for all ages who may be dealing with getting past challenges and emotions that have been buried. This often takes the form of anger, guilt, depression, grief, and anxiety. I work to help clients get through this transition time and to build skills that allow them to live a satisfying life. My communication style is open and inviting. I want my clients to feel and know that this is a judgment-free zone. I will listen with both understanding and empathy. Always with the premise, not what's wrong with you, but what happened to you. My goal for you is to collaborate with you and get you to a point where you no longer need my help. This occurs by building a trusting relationship with mutual respect and boundaries. Over time, you'll learn new skills and strategies to accomplish the goals that have been set.
Our first session will include me asking questions about your feelings, what led you to therapy, your goals, your history, and your successes. It's about us building rapport and understanding. I cannot guarantee that this experience will not be challenging, but I can say that if you're willing to stick it out, it will be worth it in the end.
My journey to becoming a therapist started after a tragedy. My original plan was to become a nurse. Still in the helping field, but not to this degree. This journey has led me to finding my calling by becoming empathetic and genuine with everyone I meet. My approach to therapy is client-centered. You are the driver. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced trauma and/or grief using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Strength-based approaches. What makes me stand out is my desire to see people who were once broken learn to thrive even in the mist of healing.
I am open to serving any client regardless of their age or gender. I have worked with trauma, SUD, grief, depression, anxiety, PTSD just to name a few. My only requirement is that you are open and willing to learn and try something different. At the end of the day, I am here to help; and there is no ideal client just people who need assistance navigating through a tough time.
