My name is Cinthia Brown, and I consider myself to be a compassionate therapist who creates a safe, supportive space for growth and healing. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of the work that we will do together, and have experience working with individuals, families, adolescents, and the military culture. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals navigating life transitions, including parenthood, career, and identity struggles.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a relaxed welcoming space where there's no pressure to have everything figured out. My style is genuine and down-to-earth, so our time together will feel more like a real conversations than an interrogation. We will talk about what is bringing you in, what you are hoping for, and any questions or concerns you have about therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that my greatest strengths are in my ability to just be a person alongside you. I strive to create emotional safety, look for strengths, and help you identify with yourself as a person, not as your presenting problem. When my clients transition from therapy, they feel more empowered to tackle life's obstacles, knowing they have the capacity within themselves to do so.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Are you looking for authentic therapeutic connection? A space to feel safe and understood as you navigate life's stressors? It is my goal to create a space that allows you to show up as your full self, so that you may work toward the version of you that feels more grounded and whole. I value strong, trusting relationships with my clients, and take a person-centered approach. I'll meet you where you are, offering understanding and acceptance as we explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns. I also draw from approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, and mindfulness based practices.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help my clients identify the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I find that this structured, collaborative approach helps my clients build practical coping skills that they can use independently, especially for issues such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Being person-centered is the foundation of my approach as a therapist. It means that I trust your innate capacity for growth, and prioritize the therapeutic relationship and space. It is my goal to create a space for you that is filled with genuineness, trust, and unconditional positive regard.

Eclectic

Drawing from multiple therapeutic treatment models can help us tackle your unique goals and circumstances. We may blend strategies from CBT, mindfulness, and family systems approaches to meet you where you are and to support meaningful growth.
