Licensed to practice in North Carolina and accepts 36 insurances. Specializes in Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Trauma and PTSD
I am a Licensed Clinical and Mental Health Counselor and work together with the client to peel back the layers of the onion, uncovering client’s suffering and route of healing. Through this journey of exploration clients increase self-awareness and self-love. Growth is part of the journey which requires clients to step outside of comfort, instead engaging in exploration as a path to healing. As a counselor, I journey with the client as expert to increase wellness and authenticity. Suffering is part of the journey, and a path to healing we discover together. Sometimes going through the healing process can be scary, but I am excited to meet you where you are and walk with you to where you want to go.
During our first session, we will explore the history of symptoms, complete any necessary assessments, determine the best treatment plan, and establish therapeutic goals.
I have an eclectic approach utilizing evidence-based practices which include Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems and parts work, and incorporate EMDR when appropriate as well as teach coping skills for daily use such as heart rate variance training, vagus nerve exercises, and more. My clients report feeling heard, seen and supported through my warmth, and gentle yet direct approach. I have witnessed significant improvement in clients who are able to engage in life fully, with reduced anxiety and overall better function in personal, social and work roles.
I enjoy working with clients who are struggling with internal and external intrusive thoughts, ruminations and compulsions, and people who struggle because of traumatic events that have happened in their lives they find difficult to move past. Using warmth, creativity and humor, and unconditional positive regard we work together to understand and have compassion towards the different parts of you. Improving self-understanding, compassion, and self-regulation and decrease anxiety and improve daily function are some of the therapeutic goals.
