New to Grow
I received my master's degree in mental health counseling at CUNY Brooklyn College. I have years of experience providing services for teens and adults and would love to help people who struggles with different types of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, communication issues, self-esteem issues, stress. I utilizes approaches such as CBT, Gestalt therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy, and Person Centered therapy in order to help my clients meet their needs and goals. I focus on helping my clients become aware and understand their emotions to better help provide them with a sense of control of their minds and lives.
I create an environment that is safe, patient centered care and non-judgmental. I work hard to maintain a respectful environment and to create a space where my clients can feel heard and understood. I believe that every individual is unique and by building connection and applying techniques I hope to helps my clients reach their goals they have set for therapy. My main goal is to help his clients walk away from therapy empowered with the tools they need to feel more confident and successful in their daily lives!
My biggest strength is allowing my client to be who they are with no judgement and to help them feel accepted. I'm able to show great empathy for how my client's deal with their struggles and the set backs they are experiencing. I also pride myself on my patience as we both try to unravel the mystery of the client's thoughts and emotions. I am able to hold my clients accountable while also being a tremendous support for them.
My ideal client is between young teen age to adulthood. I have found that therapy success is most prevalent when client come into therapy with an open mind ready to be engaged with the work. Clients who are struggling with emotional regulation or stress from their immediate relationships are always welcomed. I have also worked with clients in big life transitions such as starting a new school, new job, or even a new relationship.
I help my clients understand the relationship between their actions and behaviors and help them to adjust these both into the results they want by helping them understand the scripts and and schemas they have developed over time.
I help my clients to understand the emotions they are experiencing by helping them understand the purpose and function of the emotion. Through understanding it's purpose or function we can then move onto working on proper ways to express that emotion without feeling a sense of guilt about having the emotion.
I allow my clients to take control and focus on what they are concerned about. By doing my client's can feel involved and in control of their treatment.
