Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist in the state of California and a Certified Professional Coach! I help clients with living their best lives. This may include, clearing past negative experiences that are impacting their lives today. I help those who feeling stuck in their life and not sure which direction they'd like to go. I support clients to get to the place they'd like to be in there lives whether it's in regards to working on issues related to; relationships, major life transitions, motivation, anxiety, depression, conflict resolution and more.
In our first session together, we will be getting to know each other and I'll be finding out more about what is bringing you in to therapy. We will together figure out a couple of goals to work on. I'll be gathering more information that will allow me to figure out the best approach to helping you meet those goals. I'll be making sure you feel comfortable and may give you some homework to practice in-between our sessions.
Having worked with many young adult and adults over the past 25 years I feel like some of my greatest strengths are providing a non-judgmental environment, being empathetic, identifying where I can do the deeper work to get the best result and provide support and guidance to help clients to get where they'd like to be in their lives.
I love working with young adults and adults who are struggling in life and would like to make their lives better! I love helping to support, encourage and just be a partner in helping them get to where they'd like to be in their lives, relationships, work and school. People who have baggage from their childhood or past relationships are ideal as I can help them sort out those unresolved issues. As well as those struggling in relationship issue with their partner, family, friends or work.
I am a certified EMDR therapist with over 15 years of experience. To me this is one of the most powerful tools I use to help clients clear past negative experiences, trauma and do the deeper work that can be most transformative.
This approach is a natural way of connecting with clients and help them feel comfortable, safe and willing to share what's really going. It is important to feel heard, seen and like someone "gets" you. I believe this is the foundation of how to get the most out of your therapeutic experience.
I integrate a client-centered approach based on why you are coming to see me and how I can best support you with those issues. I use a number of different approaches based on what issues we are working on. It all depends on you, who you are, what's going on in your life at the moment and what you've experience in your life. If something isn't working I will try a different strategy to try to reach your goals. I work together with you in figuring out what the goal is and if the technique I am using isn't working I encourage you to let me know your input as well so I can pivot.
I integrate a psychodynamic approach into working with clients because it's important to see where some of our issues stem and help prevent generational patterns to be passed down that aren't working. I feel like this is an essential part of therapy that helps us in our interpersonal relationships and our relationship with ourselves. In addition, this approach helps in identifying where past traumas have occurred that are potentially still playing out in our lives currently.
I tend to use a Solution Focused approach in many cases where clients know what is the issue they want help and we can directly address that. I promote working with clients until they reach their goal(s) and then ending treatment and if they need more support later that they can come back to do more work.
